The nice people of Escanaba like to hang out close by; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Pioneer Inn. Gladstone Ski Park has good slopes and a friendly staff; Comfort Suites Escanaba is a perfect spot to get some rest. Float down the rapids of Escanaba River in a kayak, and if you came to camp Camp Seven Lake Campground - Hiawatha National Forest is a wonderful site to do that. Summer brings highs in the 70's to South       Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for South Lake. Having a wonderful time at South Lake is trouble-free. A lake close by is Henderson Lakes. There's so much to do here at South Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Brevort Lake Campground - Hiawatha National Forest is a glorious place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling                  on Ford River, and it's a fine idea to take a look at No See-um Creek.
