If time allows, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a national park worth a visit; Empire Bluffs is something you shouldn't miss if you're here. The panorama of Old Baldy Dune from South Bar Lake is pretty; Best Western Scenic Hill Resort is a delightful place to get some rest. Just can't get enough of South Bar Lake.       While you're here at South Bar Lake, you could also explore beautiful Taylor Lake, and after a long day outdoors Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa is a fine place to spend a night or two. You'll hit upon a beautiful lake called North Bar Lake near South Bar Lake, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Dunes' Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Crystal Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand; if you came for an overnight                  stay Platte River Campground is a fine site to camp. South Bar Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Through the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 70's at South Bar Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's.
