There's so much to do here at Smallwood Lake that you need to camp here for a while, J and J's Landing is a great place for that; not far from Smallwood Lake you get some great water scenery at Smallwood Dam. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Smallwood Lake. It's a great idea to pop by Black Creek, it's next to Smallwood Lake; after a long day outdoors       Sleep Inn Midland is a good location to spend a night or two. Going for a hike on the Center Fireline Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and at Smallwood Lake you always meet someone from Midland. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Smallwood Lake has to offer, you can camp at Secord Lake Campground, and the Guernsey Creek Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn West Branch, and close by you find the                  Mosquito Alley Truck Trail which is a great hiking trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Smallwood Lake is close to the national average; September is the wettest month with most rain; February is when it's the driest. All through the months of summer at Smallwood Lake highs are regularly in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
