Smallwood lake is awsome it was where my first tubing experince was I fell off and it hurt alot. We moved to Smallwood lake in 2000. Smallwood lake is awsome I love the wooden shoe restrant great food friends and fights.

Smallwood Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Smallwood Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Smallwood Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. | | most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Smallwood Lake has to offer, you can camp at J and J's Landing, and Smallwood Dam is a scenic place, absolutely worth taking a look at.

stop me, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Smallwood Lake. There is a glorious hiking trail close to Smallwood Lake called the Guernsey Creek Trail; dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn West Branch. Going for a hike on the
Center Fireline Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and Sleep Inn Midland is a splendid site to get some rest.
This lake is so wonderful. Here at Smallwood Lake there are plenty of folks from Midland; do stop at Wixom Lake,
it's a beautiful lake. Smallwood Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Secord Lake Campground is a wonderful place to camp nearby, and you'll discover a delightful lake called Secord Lake.

Grant Subdivision Access and Boat Launch. Have two homes/cottages listed in this subdivision....
Wixom Lake offers fun for all ages all year round. Some of the homes have fantastic sandy beaches for swimming in the summer. Ice fishing and snowmobiling for winter fun! The Gladwin County Ice Carnival used to be held on the lake, many years ago, partly for safety reasons, the carnival was moved onto land across the road from where is had been held on the water. There are mud bogs and truck pulls and racing. There is also a lot of state land near the Wixom Lake area. It's a great area, whether you live here year round or just come to visit!... |

Yes..however there are a lot of hidden tree stumps under the water and you have to be very careful not to run into them however there is a beautiful beach, picnic area and small water sprinkler area that you can use with access to the park area this is a lot of fun!...Wixom lake..which is not far from here is a much better lake for boating, tubing and such... There is a spot where a lot of the boats park (in the water) and just hang out sunbathing and such... Pack a cooler and you can picnic on the boat--no picnic area on land :(...Is the lake big enough for power boating, tubing and skiing... |

The person below is way off... The weeds are not that bad and I have caught some relatively nice sized fish. I have never had to clean off my motor and I catch lots of fish in little time. I would not mind if you went to another lake so that I can have more fish but there is nothing wrong with this lake....This Lake is weedy and all we caught were small pan fish. Every cast was weeds. We tried to still fish and still got weeds. Our Motor also was constantly needing clean up. We have a 5 hp motor , that's all they allow, and we get weeds,weeds,weeds. There was only 2 boats we saw fishing, they said the same thing. Good luck. Go to another lake...... |
