What a nice lake Silver Lake is. After a long day outdoors Budget Host Sunset Motel is a splendid spot to spend a night or two. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Bittersweet; why not camp at Swan Lake Campground since you're here at Silver Lake. Hit the slopes at Timber Ridge in close proximity; a great site to camp here at Silver Lake is Camp Kaskitowa.

| | the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. The good people of Allegan like to hang out close by. Lakes are good; Blueberry Lake is a lake that's next to Silver Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Cheshire Hills Golf Course; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Schermerhorn Lake.

Lake. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a great choice, and Kalamazoo River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. All through the warm months highs here at Silver Lake reach the 80's. Once the sun is down
it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Silver Lake temperatures drop to the 10's.

I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |

Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |
