All the outdoors fun stuff close to Side Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. There's fine hiking along the Valley Spur Ski Trail, and nice hiking is available along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail. Go for a hike on the Haywire Grade ORV Trail, and camping is available at Hiawatha Resort and Campground. If you need a site to stay AmericInn Munising is a great choice. Lakes are great; Bass Lake is a lake       that's close to Side Lake. An average amount of rain falls at Side Lake; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Of Munising, and Camp Eightthree Creek is close to Side Lake and is always a joy to check out. During the warm days of summer at Side Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Highs                  through the wintertime are typically in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Side Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
