Beautiful Shipp Lake has much to offer visitors. Lake Monterey Golf Course is a good golf course close by, and if you need a spot to stay Budget Host Sunset Motel is a tremendous choice. Summertime highs at Shipp Lake usually tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while Shipp Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. You can never get enough

A common amount of rain falls here at Shipp Lake; through the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |

It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
