After a long day outdoors Baymont Inn & Suites Grand Rapids SW - Byron Center is a tremendous place to spend a night or two, and people from Allegan love to come here. Budget Host Sunset Motel is a wonderful place to get some rest, and Bittersweet is a very popular ski area close by. An average amount of rain falls at Shipp Lake; through September this area sees the most rain, and February is when       it's the driest. There's whitewater on Kalamazoo River for all you thrill seekers, and since you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Lake Monterey Golf Course. During the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Shipp Lake, and the overnight is slightly cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Shipp Lake are in the 10's. There's just no                  way anybody can get bored here at Shipp Lake. Camping at Shipp Lake is great fun, Beechwood Hills Camp is a great local campground; why not camp at East Lake Camping while you're here at Shipp Lake.
