A beautiful lake like Three Corner Lake next to Shipp Lake is a great location to pop by; Shipp Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Hungry Horse Campground is a pleasant local campground. Cady Lake is a great lake in the neighborhood of Shipp Lake, and Super 8 Hudsonville is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |

It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
