For the period of the summer at Shell Lake highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows all through the wintertime for Shell Lake tend to be in the 10's. A good close by hotel is Best Western Scenic Hill Resort; Shell Lake is not far at all       from Traverse City. This lake is so wonderful. Why not pop by nearby Shalda Creek while you're here at Shell Lake; if you've had enough of Shell Lake, Narada Lake is nearby. An average amount of rain falls at Shell Lake; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City is a magnificent site to get some rest. Man, is there a load of amusing stuff to do near Shell Lake. Lime Lake                  Campground is a perfect local campground, and King's Challenge Golf Club is a good golf course nearby.
