You're possibly hooked on lakes, Robbins Pond is one of those close by, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Iron Mountain is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Iron Mountain MI; a great place to camp here at Section Nine Lake is Iron Mountain Campgrounds. This is a nice vicinity for folks who like lakes. Tamarack Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and the snow is wonderful at Norway Mountain.

| | spree to Section Nine Lake you'll meet some folks from Iron Mountain for sure; a good place for whitewater paddling is Brule River. Just can't get enough of Section Nine Lake. Camping at Silver Lake Resort is always a pleasant experience, and Michigamme River is a great whitewater spot nearby. Section Nine Lake gets a typical amount of rain; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest.

I just took a 30 mile trip down this river with a group of 6 and three canoes. I thought it was great overall. There are a few shallow spots where we had to get out of the boat and pull it through the water but otherwise the depth is good. As far as the quote ''pretty good campgrounds'' go, these were not easily found but can be set up in the less dense forests alongside the water. The stretch over the hemlock rapids is a bit difficult on the lower hemlock but the upper is an exciting though slightly wet ride. The overall current throughout the river is not too fast so some paddling is needed. Thats about it, this is a great river. The scenery is beautiful, and if your staying overnight the stars are miraculous, so enjoy the view. If your in the trees alot watch out for ticks, (they found me well) but other than that, enjoy the ride.... |
