There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Bittersweet. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Silver Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Schermerhorn Lake has to offer, you can camp at Camp Kaskitowa. night or two, and an afternoon playing golf at Cheshire Hills Golf Course is always a bliss. There's so much to do here at Schermerhorn Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Swan Lake Campground is a perfect place for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Kalamazoo River.

 | It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |
