Here at Schaffer Lake there are plenty of folks from Muskegon-Norton Shores, and Comfort Inn Muskegon is a magnificent site to get some rest. The amount of precipitation that falls at Schaffer Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during August, and February is when it's the driest. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Schaffer       Lake. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Schaffer Lake are in the 10's. Not far from Schaffer Lake, you'll come across Echo Lake which is a gorgeous lake; hiking along the Horseshoe Lake Cycle Trail is glorious fun. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do close to Schaffer Lake. Lakes are pleasant; Baker Lake is a lake that's next to Schaffer Lake, and                  Schaffer Lake is right by the Cedar Creek Cycle Trail. Going for a hike along the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful.
