After a long day outdoors Best Western Howe Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two, and in all probability you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Sylvan Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like St Joe Valley Golf Club, and the wonderful people of Sturgis like to hang out close by. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Howe; El-ken Kamp is a wonderful campground nearby.

Can the general public access the lake or is it private for Greenspire residents?...Hampton lake is a public lake in Portage south of Centre street, about a 1/3 of a mile east of US 131. It does not have a public access, I'm not even sure gas powered boats are allowed, but they're not needed because the lake is not very big. But it is spring fed and DNR stocked so it is very clean and very good fishing. I live in Greenspire Apartments which is partially on the lake and my roommate and I fish Hampton lake often. Swiss Valley is a great place to ski or snowboard, dedicated to keeping the terrain interesting and excellently groomed. Snowmaking and deicated staff also provide the best kept terrain parks in southwest Michigan. The facilities offer a full service restaurant with food, spirits and live enteratinment most weekends, a cafeteria, group gathering areas and a separate learning area.
