If you came for an overnight stay Northern Pines Campground is a pleasant site to camp, and Boardman River is a nice whitewater spot nearby. Sand Lakes is a good site of normal rain; September is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount       of precipitation. Playing golf is lots of fun at High Pointe Golf Club, and lots of people from Cadillac come here. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Shanty Creek is great, and a splendid close by hotel is Sleep Inn Acme. During the long summer days highs here at Sand Lakes reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sand Lakes.
