High temperatures at Sand Lakes during the months of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sand Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Shanty Creek,       and camping at Torch Grove Campgrounds is always a perfect experience. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Sand Lakes. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like High Pointe Golf Club, and if you get bored of Sand Lakes you could also check out close by Guernsey Lake. Sand Lakes gets a common amount of rainfall; during the month of September you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February.                  Float down the rapids of Boardman River in a kayak, and a nice nearby hotel is Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.
