Near Sand Lake you come across a golf course called Fawn Crest Golf Course; the Lincoln Mills Snowmobile Trail is a delightful hiking trail nearby. Through the warm days of summer at Sand Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight       here at Sand Lake. Camping at Leisure Time Campgroud is always a wonderful experience; on a good day you can take a hike along the Ward Hills Snowmobile Trail. From a precipitation point of view Sand Lake is a pretty typical location; September is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to Sand Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Hit the slopes at Crystal Mountain nearby, and nearby                  you come across the North Country National Scenic Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. Do go to Cool Lake close to Sand Lake, it's a pretty lake, and after a long day outdoors High Bridge Cabins is a tremendous place to spend a night or two.
