The amount of rain that falls at Ruth Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is September; the driest month is February. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a very pleasant spot to take a look at in the neighborhood of Ruth Lake; camping at Lakeside Resort and Party Store is always a pleasant experience. If you're visiting Ruth Lake from Traverse City,       you won't be the only one, and why not head up to Crystal Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. Interlochen Golf Club is a golf course in close proximity to Ruth Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do close to Ruth Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Boardman River offers some glorious whitewater; Paradise Hollow Resort is a nice spot to get some rest. If you get bored of Ruth Lake,                  you could also go to nearby Ellis Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent place to camp here at Ruth Lake is Holiday Park Campgrounds-map, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Homestead. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Ruth Lake reach the 80's, and the nighttime is quite cooler of course, mostly in the 50's.
