Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kalamazoo River, and Round Lake is not the only location close by, Hill Lake is a close by lake. The annual rainfall here at Round Lake is about average; the month with most of the rain is September; February is the month with the least moisture. During the warm days of summer here at Round Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's,

| | and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Round Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. So much fun stuff to do at Round Lake, so little time. Yankee Springs Golf Course is a magnificent golf course close by, and dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn and Suites Grand Rapids SW/Byron Center.
Bittersweet is a very popular ski area close at hand, and you can stay the night at Engelwood Campground. There's so much to do here at Round Lake that you need to camp | |

here for a while, Parkside Park is a magnificent spot for that, and a lake close by is Jackson Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Comfort Suites South is a good choice; during your visit here you'll meet some people from Grand Rapids-Wyoming for sure.

Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |
Fisk Lake

Fisk is a great lake to fish on. You must have a kayak or canoe to gain access through the channel that runs between Reeds and Fisk. Put your boat in on the West side of lakeside across from the dock at Reed's lake next to the municipal building. Have Fun... |

It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
