Barlow Lake
Bob Dibble again: looking for the Palmer family and the Parker family that used to live at Barlow lake back in the 1950's. If you are out there, please respond....I am 71 years old now and spent my 10 to 20 years old summers at Barlow lake. Visited there a couple of years ago after not being there for 40 years and found an old friend still living there - Al (Alfie) Lewis living at the old mill....
Chief Noonday Lake
There isn't enough information for this campground, like prices etc. No pictures of the campground...
Miller Lake Campground
We LOVE Miller Lake!!! Hopefully we will be back again this year for the fourth of July.......
Fisk Lake
10 miles away Fisk is a great lake to fish on. You must have a kayak or canoe to gain access through the channel that runs between Reeds and Fisk. Put your boat in on the West side of lakeside across from the dock at Reed's lake next to the municipal building. Have Fun...
Bittersweet
16 miles away Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area....
Mud Lake
18 miles away People do NOT go to Mud Lake. It's really just a wet spot in a residential area....
Freska Lake
18 miles away At one time I believe Freska Lake was owned by my Grandmother's family. Her maiden name was Lapinski. I'm currently doing research and looking for information on the family..my Grandmother in particular. She died approx. in 1930. My Dad as a young man used to rent boats on the lake and used to take me fishing there in the 50's....
Pickerel Lake
18 miles away Lots of bass....This picturesque park provides ample viewing of birds and wildlife from the boardwalk and trails that wind throughout the park. Park activities and facilities include; cross country skiing, fishing, hiking/walking, and restrooms. Pets are not allowed at Pickerel Lake Nature Preserve. ...
Cannonsburg
20 miles away This is like a local little ski hill but places like Cannonsburg are good when you really gotta go skiing for a few hours. It's not like Colorado but it's nice to get your ski muscles warmed up a bit and suck in some refreshing winter air....
Timber Ridge
27 miles away It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill....
