Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Red Fox Run Golf Course. There's so much to do here at Rice Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Gitche Gumee Campground and RV is a wonderful place for that. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Lakeside is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Escanaba       River - East Branch. Carlson Inn & Suites By Carlson, Marquette, MI is a delightful location to get some rest, and Marquette is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. The amount of rainfall that falls at Rice Lake is close to the national average; September is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. You'll need more than a day                  to explore everything Rice Lake has to offer, you can camp at Horseshoe Lake Camp Grounds. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Escanaba River; there are plenty of folks from Marquette here at Rice Lake. For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Rice Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 50's.
