The amount of rain that falls at Rice Lake is close to the national average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow; the driest of the months is April. Rice Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. While you're here at Rice Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Houghton. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lakes Motel is a splendid location to       spend a night or two, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Eagle River. Why not visit Little Traverse Bay also while you're here, and a tremendous location for whitewater paddling is Gratiot River. Isle Royale National Park is a good location right next door to Rice Lake, and it's a great idea to check out Giles Creek. High temperatures at Rice Lake during the summertime months are in the 70's; the night is quite                  chillier of course, typically in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Rice Lake temperatures fall to the 0's.
