     This is a popular site for people from Traverse City, and you can hit the slopes at Crystal Mountain in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. You'll hit upon a stunning lake called Bellows Lake near Ransom Lake, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Boardman River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Ransom Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime  
   are in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Ransom Lake through the wintertime frequently descend into the 10's. There's so much to do here at Ransom Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cycle-Moore is a pleasant place for that, and if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Traverse City is a great choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Do go to Mud Lake in close proximity to Ransom Lake, it's a beautiful lake; the panoramas at Sleeping Bear Dunes National
 
               Lakeshore will blow your mind. If you came to camp Turtle Lake Campgrounds is a perfect place to do that; after a long day outdoors Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa is a magnificent place to spend a night or two.
Ransom Lake gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; all through September this area sees the most rain; the driest month is February. All the outdoors exciting things near Ransom Lake will keep you coming back over and over. Homestead has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff, and a round of golf at nearby Interlochen Golf Club is a glorious way to kill some time.

This clean quiet wooded campground has been our destination for 7 years now. We use it as a pivot point for fishing, road trips, canoeing, gambling, antiqueing, and just laying back and enjoying the campground facilites.
