Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Houghton, MI is a wonderful place to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is good on Sturgeon River. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Kelly Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Prickett Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Twin Lakes State Park is a great local campground. | |

Lakes? Sure, Big Lake is close by. Get drenched paddling on Otter River - West Branch; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Pelkie Creek Hunter Walking Trails. An average amount of rainfall falls at Prickett Lake; the
wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most while February is mostly the driest month. There's so much to do here at Prickett Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lower Dam Lake Campground is a wonderful place for that; as expected Coach Creek is a pretty stream that is worth visiting.
