If you're here at Portage Lake and you like golf, you can stop by Maple Hill's Golf Course, and Potter Lake is a glorious lake nearby. There's so much to do here at Portage Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Timberlake Campground is a perfect place for that, and if you need a place to stay Yarrow Golf & Conference Center is a       fine choice. Portage Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Shady Bend Camp Ground is a fine place to do that; if you're going to from Battle Creek, you won't be the only one. Summer at Portage Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's.                  All through the winter highs are generally in the 30's while Portage Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's.
