If you come at the right time of year, Red Cedar River offers some delightful whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Jackson Travelodge is a wonderful choice; Robinhood Of Sherwood Forest is a splendid campground here. Portage Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rain; June is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's       the driest. Throughout the summer months highs here at Portage Lake reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Portage Lake throughout the winter commonly sink into the 10's. You'll meet a lot of folks from Jackson here, and Portage Lake is a nice place to camp, All Seasons Resort is a nice place. You're possibly addicted to lakes, Little Portage Lake is one of those nearby,                  and some of the water nearby flows, like Orchard Creek.
