Summertime highs at Lake of The Plains frequently tend to be in the 70's, and the nighttime is rather colder of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; night lows in the-10's for Lake of The Plains. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. The amount of precipitation that falls at Lake of The Plains is close to the national average; the       wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Lake of The Plains is a spot with many visitors from Iron Mountain; float down the rapids of Michigamme River in a kayak. Some of the water close by flows, like Wilson Creek; camping at Silver Lake Resort is always a nice experience.
