If you like lakes and you're in this part of Michigan you can check out Pearl Lake. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Big Rapids, Mi is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and the Hungerford Cross Country Ski Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant location to camp here at Pearl Lake is Parks and Recreation Dept, needless to say you could also have a look at Cucumber Lake since you're here; it's not far at

| | all. At Pearl Lake all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Pearl Lake.
Camping is available at Big Bend Park, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail. The annual rain here at Pearl Lake is about average; all through the month | |

Rustic Camping also available on a limited basis. As of April 15, 2009 we have two seasonal electric sites available for rent this season. Rate is $700. 00 for the year. Our camping rates nightly are $12. 00 for non-power sites and $15. 00 for electrical sites. No running water/hand pump. No dump station. Outhouses and porta- potties in the busy summer season.
Excellent smallmouth & largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye fishing on the backwaters to Croton Dam and also north about 5 miles on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. Spring steelhead runs, rainbow & german brown trout, and fall salmon runs down on the river itself below the dam.
We do not offer river services for the Little Muskegon River.
