The yearly precipitation here at Painter Lake is about average; most of the rain falls during September; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Painter Lake is not far at all from Elkhart-Goshen, and Painter Lake is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Elkhart Campground is a splendid location to camp nearby. This       lake is so wonderful. Really fine skiing awaits you at Swiss Valley; get wet paddling on East Race. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Christiana Creek, and playing golf is lots of fun at Four Lakes Country Club. After a long day outdoors Hilton Garden Inn Elkhart is a nice site to spend a night or two; you'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Christiana Lake. You simply have to love Painter Lake. Timber Ridge has good slopes and a friendly staff, and                  a scenic lake like Juno Lake is a great place to stop at. During the days of summer highs here at Painter Lake reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's.
