Looking for something near Lake Olga? Hay Lake is nearby; a tremendous nearby hotel is Days Inn Cadillac. Through the warmest time of the year at Lake Olga temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's; night lows in the 10's for Lake Olga. This lake is so wonderful. | Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |

 | We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |
