Hit the slopes at Timber Ridge around here. A lake close by is Sand Lake; Mud Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Leisure Valley Campground is a fine local campground. From a rainfall point of view Mud Lake is a rather typical place; the month with most of the rain is September, and February       meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Lawton Golf Club, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a good choice. All through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Mud Lake with night lows in the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 20's; overnight lows at Mud Lake throughout the wintertime mostly dip into the 10's. Mud Lake is not the only location                  nearby, Ackley Lake is a nearby lake, and if you're visiting from Kalamazoo-Portage, you won't be the only one.
