If you came for an overnight stay Mio Pine Acres Campground is a delightful place to camp; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Cedar Valley Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Wagner Lake Campground is a great local campground; if you're here, you could also explore pretty Perry Lake. Mud Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. | |

Island Lake
 | I have fished this lake for bluegills and have had great success. Some of the bluegills were 9 1/2 inches long. The water is very clear requiring 2 to 4 pound test line. Use half crawler with a small hook, #6, with a small split shot or at times no weight. Fish the deeper water by drifting until you find the fish then anchor. There are largemouth bass in this lake but they run undersize at around 11 to 12 inches. I used an electric motor to get around. The lake is small enough that you can row with your oars. During the spawning season,mid June, I fished the shoreline around the lake and caught the gills on their spawning beds. I have limited out many days fishing this lake with some nice size bluegills. I hand launched a boat at the camp ground there which charges a daily fee and parked in the parking lot.... |

I spend most of my summer weekends at ostc and its a great area for any kind of orv use. They have modern showers, toilets, and electrical and water hookup on each site! then theres the motocross track (theres three of varying difficulties, mini, intermediate,and the big track) which is well groomed, as well as the private trail system on 175 acres.
