Eggleston Lake is a fine lake in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and Mud Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Blodgett Landing is a wonderful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Indian Creek is a good site to explore. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground is a nice site for that. Mud Lake is not far at all from Big Rapids. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Cadillac,

Yep, outdoors exciting things to do are truly bountiful here at Mud Lake. After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Cadillac is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two; you can go for a hike on the Hungerford Cross Country Ski Trail. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Mud Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while Mud Lake overnight | |

We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
