Take a look at close by Maltbys Swamp, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by No Mans Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little visit to Au Sable Creek while you're here at Mud Lake, and camping is available at Lost Valley Campgrounds. From a precipitation point of view Mud Lake is a pretty typical       spot; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the 0's. Man, is there lots of enjoyable things to do close to Mud Lake. Lakes?
