In Michigan there are many beautiful lakes, Mud Lake is one of them. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Lake temperatures fall to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. | | is a great spot to do that. Be careful coming to Mud Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Coopersville is a fine choice. The amount of precipitation that falls at Mud Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during August, and February on the other hand is the driest. going for a hike along the Honeymoon Lake Snowmobile Trail. Not far from Mud Lake, you'll come across Peck Lake which is a stunning lake; you can go for a hike on the Horseshoe Lake Cycle Trail. Going for a hike on the Newaygo
County Snowmobile Trail is always a nice adventure, and Mud Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Parks and Recreation Dept is a great local campground.

Croton Dam Float Trips
 | 14 miles away 1 PHOTO ...beginning May 1, 2009. Reservations highly recommended as we offer the lowest rates on the Muskegon River in the Newaygo Area for your river adventures.
Rustic Camping also available on a limited basis. As of April 15, 2009 we have two seasonal electric sites available for rent this season. Rate is $700. 00 for the year. Our camping rates nightly are $12. 00 for non-power sites and $15. 00 for electrical sites. No running water/hand pump. No dump station. Outhouses and porta- potties in the busy summer season.
Excellent smallmouth & largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye fishing on the backwaters to Croton Dam and also north about 5 miles on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. Spring steelhead runs, rainbow & german brown trout, and fall salmon runs down on the river itself below the dam.
We do not offer river services for the Little Muskegon River.
We do offer a car spotting service to take your vehicles down river while you boat, canoe, or kayak the river. We also provide transportation services for individuals and their own equipment for a reasonable fee.... |
