Near Mud Lake you stumble on the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail which is a good hiking trail, and Mud Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Park Campground is a great local campground. At Mud Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the       50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. This is a good vicinity for people who like lakes. Peck Lake is a lake in the vicinity; Briar Hill Golf Course is a great golf course nearby. You're almost certainly addicted to lakes, Ford Lake is one of those close by, and you can go for a hike on the Honeymoon Lake Snowmobile                  Trail.
