The amount of rainfall that falls at Mud Lake is close to the national average; January is the wettest month with most snow, and April on the other hand is the driest. Butterfield Point is in the vicinity and always wonderful to check out, and Mud Lake is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Little Todd Campground is a nice site to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There's perfect hiking along       the Hatchett Lake Trail, and Best Western Copper Crown Motel is a good place to get some rest. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Ishpeming Trail, and nearby you discover Butterfield Shoal which is a good spot to stop by. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake. Hay Bay Campground is a splendid campground nearby. Thomsonite Beach is near Mud Lake and is a beautiful beach to explore, and good hiking is available along the                  Minong Ridge Fire Manway. For the duration of the summertime at Mud Lake highs are typically in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's.
