Mud Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Through the days of summer at Mud Lake highs are typically in the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Mud Lake tend to be in the-10's. You can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Norway Mountain. If you came for an overnight stay Iron Mountain Campgrounds is a delightful place to camp, and a delightful nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN. There are some great whitewater spots on Brule River, and Lost Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Mud Lake. There's whitewater on Paint River for all you adrenaline people, and if you get bored of Mud Lake you could also have a look at close by Montgomery Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
Why not camp at Rivers Bend Campground since you're here at Mud Lake, and let's not forget First Creek which is a stream that you may run into during your stay.
