At Mud Lake throughout the months of summer highs are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. A fine close by hotel is Budget Host Inn Houghton.       There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sunset Bay RV Resort is a great spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Americinn - Calumet, Mi is a good choice, and Gratiot River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; Mud Lake has it all. A visit to Isle Royale National Park is recommended, needless to say you could also stop by                  Little Rice Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. The yearly rain here at Mud Lake is about average; through the month of January you get the most snow around here, and April meanwhile is the driest month.
