Sure, Round Lake is just a very short distance away. Here at Mud Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Traverse City; you're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Upper Twin Lake is one of those close by. The yearly rain here at Mud Lake is about average; September is when you get the most rain here,       and the driest of the months is February. For the period of the months of summer here at Mud Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Mud Lake dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Homestead and strap some skis to your feet; after a long day outdoors Crystal                  Mountain Resort and Spa is a great site to spend a night or two. There's whitewater on Boardman River for all you thrill seekers, and Cycle-Moore is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. The McKenzie Ski Trail offers hiking at its best. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the neighborhood of Mud Lake. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Traverse City is a pleasant choice, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Crystal Mountain.
