If you like skiing, you're in luck; Skyline Ski Slide is right next door to Mud Lake; Ye Olde Country Club is a magnificent golf course close by. You think that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. The skiing at Hanson Hills is wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors AuSable Valley Hotel and Conference Center is a tremendous place to spend a night or two; Mud Lake is a splendid place to visit for       more than one day, Roscoe Mc Higgins Campground is a splendid place to camp nearby. You'll come across a delightful lake called Staley Lake near Mud Lake, and Tee Pee Motel and Restaurant is a good local campground. Throughout the warm days of summer at Mud Lake highs are regularly in the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures                  at Mud Lake dip into the 0's. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not pop by Barker Lake in the neighborhood of Mud Lake, and Super 8 Motel - Grayling is a great place to get some rest.
