Enjoy a round of golf at Highland Hills Golf Club not far from Mud Lake, and a good nearby hotel is Sleep Inn Dewitt. For the duration of the days of summer here at Mud Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's; nighttime lows during the wintertime for Mud Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Ives Drain       is close to Mud Lake and is always a delight to explore, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Richmond Lake is one of those close by. A splendid location for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Mud Lake is Red Cedar River, and a good location to camp here at Mud Lake is Moon Lake Campground. The amount of precipitation that falls at Mud Lake is close to the national average; through September this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with                  the least moisture.
