Mud Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is September; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites Beachfront is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and Boyne Highlands has       fine slopes and a friendly staff. Mud Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Mackinaw City Camping is a perfect local campground, and swamps don’t sound that great but Dingman Marsh near Mud Lake is relatively great. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Mud Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Munro Lake; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Nubs Nob. Lakes are great; Penny                  Lake is a lake that's close to Mud Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sturgeon River, and hiking along the Horseshoe Bay Trail is splendid fun. During the months of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Mud Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's.
