The amount of rain that falls at Mud Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls throughout September, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty lake like Dyer Lake right next door to Mud Lake is a glorious spot to visit; why not pop by Hayden       Point also while you're here. Dyer Creek is a glorious location to stop by; you'll locate a beautiful lake called Steele Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake with night lows in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Mud Lake. Shanty Creek is a great local ski area; golf can be played at Ye NYNE Olde Holles Golf Club. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Petoskey, and in                  the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bear River. This lake is so wonderful.
