    Mud Lake is a lake worth visiting. After a long day outdoors Alpena-Days Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two. People from Alpena love to come to Mud Lake, and a lovely lake like Fourmile Pond is a fine place to have a look at. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Campers Cove RV and Campground is a tremendous place for that, and it's a good idea to go to McLary Creek.
Mud Lake is right by the Devils Lake
 
   Trail; do explore Devils Lake, it's a striking lake. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do near Mud Lake. Best Western Of Alpena is a fine location to get some rest, and hiking along the Norway Ridge Trail is splendid fun. From a precipitation point of view Mud Lake is a pretty common site; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
For the period of the long summer days here at Mud Lake,
 
               high temperatures generally reach the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Thunder Bay RV Park and Campground, and in the neighborhood of Mud Lake you come across a golf course called Alpena Golf Club.

stopped off here in june or july '06 on our way to the u.p. but just wanted to say it was beautiful here from the animals, to thunder bay I went and canoed it 'bout midnight to 2 in the morn. with my travel party. the bay itself was fantastic shallow as can be. every one there was friendly. going back in spring of '07 with the rest of my family...Love to camp at Ossineke! Definitely rustic. Count on usually friendly neighbors (including the squirrels and chipmunks). Beautiful area!...
