Here at Mud Lake there are plenty of people from Escanaba, and great hiking is available along the Valley Spur Ski Trail. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Valley Spur Creek, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Chatham Ski Trail. Super 8 Motel - Munising/Wetmore Area is a great spot to get some rest, and camping at Buckhorn Otter Lake Campground is always a magnificent experience. Now, you may believe       that's loads but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Mud Lake. The panoramas at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore will blow your mind; if you've had enough of Mud Lake, Furnace Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Au Train River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. For the period of the warm months highs here at Mud Lake reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and nighttime lows at                  Mud Lake through the winter ordinarily plunge into the 0's. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Mud Lake; September is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is not the only spot close by, Perch Lake is a close by lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Lake; Addis Lakes Ski Trail is a good local trail.
