    Morrison Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Lakes? Sure, Iron Lake is in the vicinity; after a long day outdoors Americinn - Iron River, Mi is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Brule Mountain is wonderful; if you need a site to stay Best Western Baraga Lakeside Inn is a glorious choice. And that's not all you can do here at Morrison Lake. Why not camp at Iron River Rv Park if you're here at  
   Morrison Lake; there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Lauterman Trail.
If you like skiing, you're in luck; Ski Brule is in close proximity to Morrison Lake, and there are other locations here than Morrison Lake, for example Bates Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Brule River is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of Morrison Lake, and why not take a little visit to Costigan Creek while you're here.

               Black House Campground is a glorious spot to camp, and you can run the rapids of Paint River. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Morrison Lake get into the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and overnight lows at Morrison Lake all through the wintertime typically sink into the 0's. From a rain point of view Morrison Lake is a reasonably typical spot; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Whoohoo! My local ski hill on the internet, WOW! What can I say, Brule's got straight runs and wiggly runs, hard ones and easy ones, but they're all lots of fun. I've been here more times than I can remember and I keep coming back for more and more, year after year....

The highlight of Paint River Hills Campground is its hiking trail along the Paint River. The loop trail, about half-mile long, winds through and around the rock bluffs and hills that form the banks of the Paint River and for years has been the playground of local youngsters. The name “Paint River Hills” is the term used by locals to describe the location of the campground. Youngsters have named other areas such as Peeper Hollow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, White Pine Lookout, Fairy Tale Swamp, Rock Fort, Thistle Swamp and Camel Back Lookout.

As the trail leads you to several lookouts down the river identification signs greet you naming trees in native Ojibwa as well as Latin and English. You will wind through an old white cedar stand and see rare quartz rock outcroppings.
