Miller Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. A lake close by is Wellington Lake; there are glorious spots to explore along the Alligator Eye Trail. Man, is there loads of fun stuff to do in the neighborhood of Miller Lake. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Indianhead; Comfort Inn Minocqua is a nice spot to get some rest. | | in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are mostly in the 10's, and nighttime lows at Miller Lake throughout the wintertime frequently fall into the-10's. The Gogebic Range scenery is always beautiful. All the outdoors amusing things in the Gogebic Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. If you come at the right time of year, Presque Isle offers some nice whitewater, and why not camp at Bobcat Lake Campground if you're here at Miller Lake. This | |

lake is so wonderful. Getting to Bobcat Creek from Miller Lake is trouble-free; if you came for an overnight stay Henry Lake Campground is a great site to camp. Miller Lake is not the only place close by, Jacksnipe Lake is a close
by lake, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Presque Isle. Yeah, come up here to the Gogebic Range for a nice time. From a rainfall point of view Miller Lake is a pretty normal spot; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture.

Armour Lake
 | My aunt and uncle, Della and Deac Vilutis, owned the resort in the 50's and early 60's. I have many memories if my dad and I fishing on all those lakes. It was truly a beautiful area to grow up in....The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it.... |
