| | This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Michigamme Shores Campground, and Dutchman Point is close by and always brilliant to have a look at. Lake Michigamme gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Peshekee River, of course you could also check out Dashwa Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Nearby | |

Craig Lake
 | This was a great time. A buddy of mine and I grabbed the canoe, tent, and fishing gear and headed out for a week. We overpacked, which made the reasonable portage quite difficult, though. After all the work, we were rewarded with a secluded island camp site about 30 minutes paddle from where we put in. I recommend this lake to anyone that likes to camp or fish. We caught a large number of Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass while we were there, and were quite sad to leave. However, Bring bug repellent.....The horseflies during the day strike fear into the hearts of most mortal men and you can skin the mosquitos to make a coat.... |
Peshekee River
 | 10 miles away I have loved the Peshekee for over 63 years, watching rocks appear and disappear with the seasons. It's a special day when kayakers also appear, usually in early spring. I'm afraid the time for good kayaking is over for this year. Sorry! By the way, there are plenty of good motels in Marquette. ... |

Sunson Lake
 | 14 miles away Spent many a summer day here as a kid. The lake is crystal clear and great for swimming. Since it's so small, it doesn't take long to warm up after the spring thaw....This lake is amazing! I love to swim here,... |
