Bice Creek is a good local stream, and McDonald Lake is not the only place close by, Otter Lake is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. You could also visit Black River Lake since you're here at McDonald Lake; it's close by, and dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Ironwood, Mi. There is a good hiking trail       near McDonald Lake called the Rainbow Falls Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Big Powderhorn Mountain. So many enjoyable things to do in the Gogebic Range, not sufficient time. Why not camp at Big 6 RV Resort and Campground while you're here at McDonald Lake; Blackjack has splendid slopes and a friendly staff. All through the summer months here at McDonald Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's. Once the sun is down                  it drops down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at McDonald Lake. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Gogebic Range. Henry Lake Campground is a tremendous local campground. Having a brilliant time at McDonald Lake is uncomplicated. If you come at the right time of year, Black River offers some good whitewater, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Ironwood is a magnificent choice.
