It's always fun to stop by McDermott Lake. A delightful location to camp here at McDermott Lake is Hungry Horse Campground, and a stunning lake like East Lake is a great place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to McDermott Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at McDermott Lake dipping down into

Lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop by Leggett Lake near McDermott Lake, and since you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Lake Monterey Golf Course. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the vicinity of McDermott Lake. If you need a location to stay Budget Host Sunset Motel is a splendid choice; everyone
close by loves skiing at Timber Ridge. The amount of rain that falls at McDermott Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kalamazoo River, and Baymont Inn & Suites Grand Rapids SW/Byron Center is a fine site to get some rest.

Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |

It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
