This is a great area for people who like lakes. Hewitt Lake is a lake close at hand; there are plenty of people from Cadillac here at Marl Bed Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Marl Bed Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Beaver Lake Camp Grounds is a glorious local campground, and Super 8 Cadillac is a brilliant place to get some rest. Through the warmest time of the year at Marl Bed Lake highs are commonly in the 70's. All through the moonlight

| | hours it's usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows at Marl Bed Lake through the wintertime commonly sink into the 0's. You're in all probability hooked on lakes, Diamond Lake is one of those nearby, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Caberfae Way Snowmobile Trail.
There's so much to do here at Marl Bed Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground is a great place for that, and | |

Pine River is a great whitewater spot nearby. From a rain point of view Marl Bed Lake is a relatively common spot; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking
along the Hungerford Cross Country Ski Trail is good fun.
Having a great time at Marl Bed Lake is painless. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Cadillac is a great choice; Marl Bed Lake is right by the Lincoln Mills Snowmobile
Trail. For you golfers we recommend close by Tustin Trails Golf Course, and the snow is glorious at Caberfae Peaks.

 | We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

| Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
