If you came for an overnight stay Old Orchard Campground is a fine site to camp, and after a long day outdoors Baymont Inn & Suites Battle Creek Downtown is a pleasant location to spend a night or two. You're sure to run into some smiling people from Battle Creek here; lakes are such serene places, why not explore Strewins Lake. Why not camp at Shady Bend Camp Ground since you're here at Manning Lake, and a good close by hotel is Yarrow Golf & Conference Center.

| | If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll adore Manning Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Near Manning Lake you locate a golf course called Golf Club at Yarrow; you'll come across a gorgeous lake called Fine Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Manning Lake while nighttime lows are frequently in the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Manning Lake are in the 10's. Manning Lake gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is when it's the driest.

If you are out there, please respond....I am 71 years old now and spent my 10 to 20 years old summers at Barlow lake. Visited there a couple of years ago after not being there for 40 years and found an old friend still living there - Al (Alfie) Lewis living at the old mill.... |
Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |
