Florence Lake is close at hand, and if time allows, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a national park worth checking out. This lake is so wonderful. Very stunning scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Homestead, and Lake Manitou is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Lime Lake Campground is a perfect location to camp nearby. The annual rainfall here at Lake Manitou is about average; all       through the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. A great close by hotel is Best Western Scenic Hill Resort. Sleepy Bear Camp Grounds is a tremendous campground nearby, unsurprisingly you could also explore Tamarack Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Summertime at Lake Manitou arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into                  the 50's.
