This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Chapel Beach Campground, and you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Lakeshore Trail. You'll stumble on a picturesque lake called Gemini Lakes near Long Lake, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Haywire Grade ORV Trail. From a precipitation point of view Long Lake is a reasonably normal location; the wettest       month of the year is mostly September, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. Summertime highs at Long Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Long Lake. If time allows, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a national park worth stopping at; on a good day you can take a                  hike along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail. Man, is there plenty of exciting stuff to do right next door to Long Lake.
